NGO WargaAman has called off its delegation to deliver a free thosai telur to deputy inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar, said its secretary-general S Barathidasan.

When contacted, he said this was decided after Khalid responded to the 24-hour deadline on whether he wanted the Indian dish.

"I know where to get a delicious thosai telur from a nearby restaurant, but I thank them for the offer," he was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today .

WargaAman which had called off plans to set up thosai stalls outside Khalid's house today had said they would still deliver a thosai telur to his residence in Ampang if he did not respond to their offer.

"Since he has responded, we will respect his decision," said Barathidasan.

NONE The tit-for-tat began when a group of petty traders set up burger stalls outside Bersih co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan's house on May 10, protesting what they claimed as losses which they incurred during the Bersih 3.0 rally on April 28.

Even though Ambiga ( left ) had condemned this as an invasion of privacy, Khalid had said that this was not an offense and therefore police need not act.

He later clarified that the local council could still take action against the stalls.

Responding to this, WargaAman said it would set up thosai stalls outside Khalid's house to "promote" the dish.

However, the stunt was later aborted after several Pakatan leaders including Ambiga advised the NGO against it.

"We listen to our leaders, but we don't understand why no one from BN or Umno advised the traders who set up burger stalls outside Ambiga's house," he said.

Aside from this, a group of ex-soldiers had on Tuesday performed butt exercises outside Ambiga's house.
