YOURSAY 'If women are just a tool for men to satisfy their lust, then it's better for us women to be prostitutes. At least, we get paid.'

'Obedient Wives' can't see rape in marriage

your say Odin: The first part of the Quran is really another version of the first five books in the Old Testament (which the Jews call the Torah).

The Torah would have been written ca. 900 BC or some 100 years after King Solomon (Prophet Solomon as Obedient Wives Club spokesperson Fauziah Ariffin described) died.

Before, during and after that time till a few centuries following the advent of Islam in the 7th century, women were treated as - forgive the choice of word - pariahs. They were mere chattels.

Even the laws were heavily biased against them. This is the 21st century. Times have changed. Most of the rules, laws and expectations applicable up to even the 19th century do not apply anymore.

Fauziah, please do not denigrate women and relegate them to mere sex objects.

By all means, teach your members the art of love-making, but let them be imbued with a sense of self-worth, of human beings equal to their husbands, and not merely receptacles of men's semen.

Abasir: "Allah has stated, according to the Quran, that your wife is your field. You can plough her anyway you like, just do not practise sodomy," Fauziah said.

Jokes aside, this woman sounds most suited to be an Umno leader. Apart from her laser-like focus on nocturnal activities (which our PMs are reportedly not adverse to), she has "a triple degree in accounting, finance and system from Australia", whatever that means.

Onyourtoes: Fauziah, I tried hard to rationalise what you are trying to say. But then, I asked myself how long the institution of marriage has been in existence. I also asked how long most major religions have been in existence.

If by now, husbands and wives still do not know how to behave themselves after their marriage, then perhaps they are just people beyond redemption and enlightenment.

Maybe wives have their roles to play, but so do the husbands. Maybe marriage is more than just sex, although sex probably has an important role to play. Maybe there are other factors including compatibility that are equally important.

You are not qualified to come up with your own concoction and expect others to take it as gospel truth. You are just sensationalising a sensitive topic, capitalising on the gullible and sex-crazed Malaysians.

Think: Fauziah's intention is good. She is advising and practicing what she believes to be right. But it needs a little tweaking.

It is only fair, dignified and fun if sexual experiences are made out of the mutual interest of both the parties involved.

When a wife is not ready, not in the mood or not well, to have sex, a husband should respect that. Husbands are not masters and wives are not slaves. A husband and a wife should be friends who deeply love and respect each other's needs.

Anonymous #43051382: Fauziah, you have a good point there but your choice of words is not right. Anyway, it is your opinion.

Those who think it is right, go and practice it. Those who don't, can always go for prostitutes if you don't get sex-tifaction from your partners.

Lover Boy: First and foremost, non-Muslims should not make offensive remarks on this matter. This is a Muslim matter where they can practice polygamy, you cannot.

Fauziah's statement is the advice given to OWC members and how they approach family matters. So giving a blowjob is okay if the wife is having her period. It is the wife's duty to make herself attractive to the husband, and in this context, it is obvious she was referring to the housewife and homemaker, not the career-minded woman.

So you disagree that your wife is your playing field and you can plough her anyway you want? Relax lah , you can all disagree, that is your business.

Clever Voter: I never knew sex can be politicised. Universal human rights apply to all irrespective of faith, religion and ethnicity. Sex without consent, whether married or not, is rape. Period.

HYL: Why she made it sound like we women are just sex toys to husband? Sex without emotions is holy sex?

There are times when we women feel loving to our husbands but we don't want sex. We want only a sense of loving and belonging to each other.

If women are just a tool for men to satisfy their lust, then it's better for us women to be prostitutes. At least, we get paid to satisfy their lusts.

Giudice: This really is getting more and more ridiculous. Speaking from a man's perspective, what an insult to equality.

Go live in a cave (with your ‘lord and master') if you believe that sex is the man's right and the woman has no say. We want a developed society, where every person is respected and treated equally.

Sabahan: Fauziah, kindly do not issue any more statements. I am laughing till my stomach hurts.
