Parliament's youngest member, DAP MP for Batu Gajah Fong Po Kuan, 26, has complained that she was harassed a number times by BN MPs during the current session of Parliament.

At yesterday's proceedings in Parliament, Fong was rudely dismissed by Deputy Information Minister Khalid Yunus when he was asked to reveal the name of the company which had paid for BN's television advertisements in the November polls.

According to Parliament's Hansard, Fong stood up to seek clarification from Khalid but before she managed to say anything, Khalid said, "Ini apa hendak ini, budak datang dari mana ni?" ("What do you want? Where's this girl from?")

Fong, a law graduate from Universiti Islam Antarabangsa, told malaysiakini today that it was not the first time she encountered such intimidations from the BN MPs.

She said that last week, Batang Lupar BN MP Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar had also called her "budak kecil" (small girl).

"As a minister, he (Khalid) should show the good example. But by using such impolite words, he is not respecting the representatives chosen by the people," she lamented.

However, Fong said she would not let the remarks upset and deter her from doing her constitutional duties.

DAP MP for Tanjong Chow Kon Yeow said that Khalid Yunus as the most senior deputy minister in the Cabinet should be more respectful to others.

Last month, Fong and another woman MP from DAP, Chong Eng, complained that they were sexual harassed by BN MPs when they were interjected with phrases such as "minta masuk sikit" (allow me to enter) during parliamentary debates.
