DAP has launched its own version of popular board game Monopoly, aimed at educating Malaysians on the country’s politics in an entertaining way.

NONE DAP publicity secretary Tony Pua ( left ) said the board game, named Monopoly: Negara Kebajikan vs Negara Muflis (Monopoly: Welfare Country vs Bankrupt Country) is targeted at the young at heart.

"Politics tends to be serious, as it sends out serious messages. Many (Malaysians) are reluctant to attend ceramah that tend to touch on hard facts and about the good and bad of the people," Pua said when asked why the party came out with such a game.

"We find ways to lighten up the politics, and at the same time, still deliver the message.”

Pua explained that the game allows its players to compare the policies of both BN and Pakatan Rakyat.

The game can be played by two to four players. A player can win through two ways- causing his or her opponent to go bankrupt or by gaining all four 'Ubah' cards.

The board game costs RM5 each and can be purchased through the party's operation centres nationwide and online via the Ubah store .

The players will be given cash amounting to RM32 million, an Ubah card and a C4 bomb card, and they will earn money by landing on any petak (spot) of Pakatan Rakyat's policies.

 

The National Feedlot Centre scandal, the Scorpene submarine controversy, demolishment of buildings on Jalan Sultan and diamond rings, among others, are also mentioned in the board game.

 

Also present at the press conference were Kuantan Dapsy chief Steve Lee, social media strategy adviser Yeo Bee Yin, and election bureau executive director Ooi Leng Hang.
