The swearing-in ceremony for Sabah’s new line-up of state executive council (exco) members will be held at the state legislative assembly building in Likas, Kota Kinabalu, on June 13.

In announcing this, Chief Minister Musa Aman said Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Juhar Mahiruddin would officially open the new session of the state assembly at the same venue on June 17 at 9.30am.

“The debate session (at the state assembly sitting) will be from June 18 to 19 and the winding-up on June 20," he said after chairing the first meeting of the state's new cabinet at Wisma Innoprise in Kota Kinabalu today.

On the presence of 12 opposition elected representatives in the state assembly this time, Musa, who is also Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairperson, said: “It’s okay, normal, we accept... there’re already seats (for them).”

Asked on the appointment of opposition leader in the state assembly, he said it was up to them (opposition) to decide.

Musa took his oath of office as chief minister before the Yang Dipertua Negeri at Istana Negeri on May 6.

The state ministers received their letters of appointment on May 10.

In the recent 13th general election, Sabah BN won 48 of the 60 seats contested to enable it to form the state government.

It also won 22 of the 25 parliamentary seats it contested in the elections.
