DAP members who wear "Rocket badges but have BN hearts" will face disciplinary action for defaming the party, says its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Lim said the party's national organising secretary Anthony Loke and legal bureau head Gobind Singh Deo have both been directed to investigate and act against such members who "try to destroy and sabotage" the DAP.

NONEHe added that Loke will submit a formal complaint - if there is a basis for further action - to the party's disciplinary committee, which is headed by deputy chief and Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai.

Gobind (left), who is Puchong MP, will scrutinise the statements published by the media and if necessary file defamation suits to protect the party from being subjected to further attacks that may give Registrar of Societies (ROS) the opportunity to take harsh action against DAP, Lim added.

"Despite the party re-elections being both lawful and legitimate, the party continues to be accused of cheating," said Lim.

"The time has come for the party's 150,000 members to move boldly forward to realise the Malaysian Dream through DAP's battle-cry of Ubah to replace BN at the next general elections, with genuinely loyal party members who wear both Rocket badges and have DAP hearts," declared Lim.

Lim was referring to veteran DAP leaders such as former vice-chief Zulkifli Mohd Noor and former Jalan Bagan Luar branch chief G Asohan, both of whom had repeatedly criticised the party's leadership polls.

Fresh polls

Lim said the party "created history" by appointing an international accounting firm to monitor the entire re-election process, which culminated in balloting on Sept 29.

DAP was forced to comply with the ROS's directive to hold fresh polls for fear of being deregistered.

At the Sept 29 re-election, DAP delegates returned the same CEC members who were earlier voted into office in December last year, giving its leaders a sense of "vindication".

ROS directed the party to hold fresh polls when several disgruntled members lodge complaints claiming irregularities in the December election results.
