A DAP assemblyperson today urged families of the deceased whose graves were recently vandalised to contact the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) for further updates.

Twenty-five graves were found vandalised at the Christian cemetery in Kampung Tunku in Petaling Jaya two weeks ago.

Kampung Tunku assemblyperson Lau Weng San said as they didn’t have all the contacts of the next-of-kin of the deceased, he asked that they check the list of desecrated graves on the council’s website as soon as possible and contact the council, he told a press conference today in Petaling Jaya.

Family members can ask for Ms Liza or Mrs Rahmah at 03-7960 1216.

MBPJ councillor Jeyaseelen Anthony meanwhile said that the council will install barbed wire on the cemetery’s fences to prevent further intrusions.

A Christian cemetery in Kuantan was similarly vandalised, in January.

The structures there were also reported to have been broken with the use of heavy tools.
