Veteran Umno leader Syed Ali Alhabshee has rained criticism on PAS, urging the party to close shop for losing focus of its struggle and causing damage to Muslims and Malays.
He also claimed that PKR and DAP have turned PAS into a “hotel” and “toilet” in order to achieve their political ambitions and the Islamic party is just “rubbish” in Pakatan Rakyat.
“In my view, PAS is not only a tool for PKR and DAP but has become a toilet (
tandas
) for those with personal agendas in Pakatan,” he said.
The Cheras Umno division leader was responding to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s speech at the muktamar which stated there were “brokers” and “
barua
” (lackeys) in the party.
Training his guns on Anwar Ibrahim, Syed Ali said that Pakatan also has “traitors” and an individual who is willing to divide the races just to realise his goal of becoming prime minister.
In view of this, the Umno leader said he was not shocked by Hadi’s speech.
“For a long time, I have considered PAS as not having a stand and is willing to be a puppet for PKR and DAP.
“PAS is only there to fortify PKR and DAP as well as to ensure Anwar becomes prime minister,” he added in Cheras Umno’s blog.
Syed Ali also lambasted PAS for “sleeping on the same pillow” with DAP, which proves that the party exploited Islam for political benefits.
