Khalid's sacking due process, ROS told

PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution today gave statements to the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on the sacking of former menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from the party.

 

Saifuddin said that he insisted to ROS that PKR had followed due process in sacking Khalid after he refused to resign from the Selangor post. 

 

"They mostly asked about the disciplinary board and I even signed four pages of questions after the interview," said Saifuddin (left) .

 

He also said that Khalid was the one who had laid the foundation on the very issue of party discipline. 

 

“I informed ROS that Khalid, as the former secretary general of the party, knew which part of the constitution deals with disciplinary cases. 

 

“All that I have done is in line with the foundation laid by Khalid. In fact, my work was made easier because he had addressed that very issue.

 

“So why is he asking for an explanation? Only he can answer that, not me,” said Saifuddin. 

 

Meanwhile, Wan Azizah said that she answered all the 20 questions posed and the ROS officer seemed “satisfied”.

 

“No further actions (is likely) mooted Wan Azizah. 

 

Khalid (left) had called for ROS to determine if PKR had violated the party constitution in sacking him.

 

The PKR leadership had decided to replace Khalid as menteri besar back in July this year.

 

Khalid went on to stay as an independent menteri besar for a month before PKR deputy president Azmin Ali was chosen as his successor.
