Major Zaidi Ahmad today claimed that his salary for January has not been paid although there has been no official letter confirming his sacking by the Military Court earlier this month.

 

Zaidi was discharged from the Air Force after being found guilty of speaking to the media about indelible ink used in the 13th general election without approval from the Armed Forces Council.

 

"I just confirmed today that my January salary was not paid to me. The money was deposited into my account on Jan 22 but was taken out on the same day," he said.

 

"So far the Butterworth airbase paymaster has yet to come back to me with an explanation," he added.

Zaidi said that he realised the missing salary after scrutinising his bank statement this afternoon.

"Starting tomorrow, I will have to find another job to feed my family.

"Maybe I will tap rubber or become a fisherman," he quipped.
