Bersih said Housing, Urban Well-being and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan has stooped so low for suggesting to dump all the trash generated from future rallies at the electoral watchdog's doorstep.

"The minister should not even suggest throwing rubbish in front of our house (office)," said Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah when met at Kuala Lumpur Court Complex today.

"Yesterday I told reporters that we really don't want to respond to rubbish remarks. I mean, this is below us.

"I am not going down that level to debate with him about rubbish," she said emphasising that Bersih's demand for clean and fair elections has not even been dealt with.

"Our agenda... what we want is to strengthen the institution and bring changes to the country," Maria said.

Rahman vowed to send all the trash to the NGO's doorstep if the coalition refuses to pay the RM65,000 bill by the local government for clean-up efforts for the Bersih 4 rally on Aug 29 and 30.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall last week failed to send Bersih the bill because they mistakenly went to the house next door.

The mistake went public went Rahman tweeted a picture of the house he thought was the Bersih headquarters in Petaling Jaya, and derided it as being not 'bersih' (clean).

This prompted the Bersih secretariat to put up signs and arrows on its front gate while cheekily apologising that they could not roll out a red carpet for Rahman and his officers.

The bill by SWCorp, a ministry agency, was finally delivered and was itemised to each square feet cleaned.
