So who’s in charge of Selangor now, Gerakan Youth asks

Gerakan Youth wants to know who is governing Selangor, given the establishment of the new coalition Pakatan Harapan - without PAS as a member.

Pakatan Harapan is the newly-announced opposition pact formed by PKR, DAP and PAS splinter party Parti Amanah Negara.

However, the Selangor state executive council members are made up of PKR, DAP and PAS members.

“Gerakan Youth urges PKR and DAP to clarify whether Selangor is now governed by the newly formed Pakatan Harapan.

“Or is there a separate coalition formed with PAS solely for the purpose of maintaining their power and lucrative positions in the Selangor government?” Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang asked.

Tan also demanded an explanation as to why PAS is still part of the government, despite the break-up of Pakatan Rakyat after a DAP-PAS feud over hudud.

PAS has three members on the Selangor executive council, which is chaired by PKR deputy president and Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali.

Earlier, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng ( photo ) said DAP remains in the Selangor government alongside PAS in spite of the fallout, to keep a check on PAS.

PAS was invited to the roundtable talk on the new opposition pact this morning but it snubbed the invite. The party will discuss the issue at a meeting this afternoon.

PSM, which has one MP, was not invited to the discussion.
