MMEA: Robbers board vessel in Singapore Strait

At least six robbers boarded a vessel in the Strait of Singapore at 7am today, according to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
MMEA director-general Admiral (Maritime) Ahmad Puzi Ab Kahar said in a Twitter message that the robbers went aboard the MT Almi Spirit at 7am and that MMEA boats had intercepted the vessel.
“ Almi Spririt was boarded by six robbers in the Strait of Singapore at 7am. It (the vessel) has been intercepted by KM Rawa and a speedboat in Tanjung Pelepas, Johor,” he said in the message.
The MMEA Southern Region said Johor Baru District Maritime enforcement chief Capt (Maritime) Aminuddin Abd Rashid would hold a media conference at 1.30pm today on the incident.
