Guan Eng under siege
Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng barely settled his tiff with federal minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan over affordable housing but is now finding himself under siege over his own home, said to have been bought at below market price.
Lim denied receiving kickbacks for the good buy and challenged his accuser Umno's Tasek Gelugor MP Shabudin Yahya to meet him one-on-one over the matter.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) acknowledged it received a report over the matter and promised a fair probe .

Dr M and Najib loyalists exchange fire
Just as former premier Mahathir Mohamad appealed to Umno grassroots in an open letter to move a no-confidence motion against Najib Abdul Razak, hundreds of the prime minister's loyalists swarmed Mahathir's Putrajaya office in protest.

Muhyiddin rallies his men against Najib
More than 1,000 members from Pagoh Umno, which is led by Muhyiddin Yassin, signed the Citizens' Declaration which called for Najib's ouster as prime minister.
Muhyiddin, who was suspended as Umno deputy president, also spoke to Malaysiakini for the first time in an interview, about his dejection over the state of Umno.
He also blasted federal minister Azalina Othman for accusing him of conspiring to topple Najib when he was deputy prime minister.
Pow-wow at Malaysian Bar AGM today
The Malaysian Bar is set to debate on the National Security Council (NSC) Bill and also the removal of attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali for refusing to prosecute the prime minister today, but came under friendly fire.
DAP's Seri Delima state assemblyperson RSN Rayer, a lawyer himself, accused the Malaysian Bar of fuelling speculation that it was pro-opposition with its motion on the attorney-general's removal.

Looking ahead
The Bar Council is to hold its annual general meeting today and lawyers will debate a number of controversial motions, including its legal move to challenge the attorney-general for not prosecuting PM Najib Razak.
The closed-door meeting will begin at 10am and a press conference is expected to be held at around 2pm.
DAP is holding its 50th anniversary celebration in Penang.
It is expected that the plight of party secretary-general and state chief minister Guan Eng, who is under investigation by MACC over the purchase of a house at below market price, will be one of the many talking points at the event.
