The Barisan Nasional (BN) Wanita movement wants the people to realise that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is a victim of a political ploy by certain groups who link him to the 1MDB issue.

Wanita BN head Sharizat Abdul Jalil said the people must understand the report by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) regarding the investigation on the 1MDB, which clearly showed that Najib had been made a victim of slanders which had affected his credibility as the prime minister.

“The final report is most crucial because the members of the PAC not only come from the government but also represent the opposition which had been vocal previously on the PM and the 1MDB,” she told reporters after opening the forum ‘Probiz Klinik’ entitled ‘Professionals Venturing Into Entrepreneurship’ in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Meanwhile, Sharizat said the people must put aside any negative feeling against the government arising from the 1MDB issue played up by irresponsible groups, and they should instead look forward together with the existing government to bring development to the nation.

“The people must move ahead together with the prime minister, the cabinet and leaders as a team to build the nation which has considerable potentials in various fields.

“I believe if we all give our support to the prime minister, I am positive we can achieve our goal,” she added.

In ARAU, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim said that now the 1MDB controversy had been cleared, the people should focus on strengthening the country’s economy rather than politics alone.

“The (PAC) report has shown there was no criminal wrongdoing. So, to the people and leaders, there is no need for us to be busybodies will all the allegations against the government. The report has been tabled and all has been answered,” he said.

In PASIR SALAK, Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman urged that stern action be taken immediately on the parties found to have committed malpractices with regards to the 1MDB.

Such firm and bold action was important to prove that the government was transparent and fair in protecting the interest of the people in the country, he said after opening the simultaneous general meetings of Sungai Galah and Kampung Makmur Umno branches.
