Three-cornered fight like giving uncontested win to BN

YOURSAY | DAP and PKR scrapping over one biscuit when there's a whole tin to take care off.

DAP will contest Batu Kitang if PKR fields candidates against it

Speaking Sense: As a confirmed opposition supporter, it pains me that neither DAP nor PKR seems to be able to see the big picture and both are allowing themselves to fight over one piece of biscuit when there is a whole tin to take care of, that the enemy wants to steal away, just to jack up the ego of an arrogant chief minister.

When will they learn - to split votes is to vote for BN, and this turns voters off. So please grow up, Sarawak DAP state leader Chong Chieng Jen and Sarawak PKR state chief Baru Bian.

We want you both to win together with your parties, because only then will the people win.

Az: Why bother - just give the seat to BN. Why can't PKR and DAP learn from what happened in the last general election, when BN won two state seats in Selangor that had three-cornered fights involving PKR, PAS and BN. If there are going to be any three-cornered fights, then might as well consider it as BN winning uncontested.

Pahatian: I would say "DAP go for it". Make these five seats, and Batu Kitang as a battleground between the two opposition parties to see who is the more popular one, once and for all.

Winning or losing the seats is no more important. But the result will show who is the more popular opposition party and the next time around, the losing one has to give way.

No more tedious and time-consuming negotiations to decide seat allocations. The parties can then put all their energy in campaigning and do more for their respective contingencies. It is worth a thought.

Anakraja: DAP, go full steam ahead. Knock out anything in your way. Full steam ahead and get the victories. Sarawakians take what is given and vote for DAP. A vote for BN is a vote for 'Barang Naik”.

Amateur As PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has failed to abide by the written agreement over the allocation of seats, DAP should have the courage to compete where the probability of winning is high. Let the voters make the final decision.

Cks: Go for it. Better die honourably than succumb to bullying. Go after Baru Bian's seat to teach him a lesson.

Wong Fei Hoong: Yes go and contest the Batu Kitang seat. Show PKR that you also mean business. PKR cannot be trusted anymore. Despite having the least seats in Parliament and Sarawak, they think they are the leaders or kingmakers of Pakatan Harapan. How to work with turncoats.

HaveAGreatDay: Let the show begin. The Umnoputeras must be having a good laugh at these two pretenders to the keys to Putrajaya. They can't even cement a proper electoral agreement at state level and yet they harbour hopes of wresting the keys to Putrajaya.

I am not rich but I am glad I have held off contributing to the opposition cause in Sarawak.

GST, 1MDB also 'local issues', S'wakians told ahead of polls

Hearty Malaysian: Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem talks as if Sarawak is not part of Malaysia and ignores the1MDB scandal that has affected international confidence in Malaysia. Can Adenan confirm if Sawarak BN is supporting Najib despite so many scandals?

Southpaw: There's 81 percent support for Adenan simply because he says what Sarawakians have been wanting to hear for ages. Sarawakians are really a gullible bunch. They will continue to suffer for their inability to see through Adenan.

Cogito Ergo Sum: It's a misnomer to assume that federal issues do not affect local economics. If our ratings fall, investors are not going to come. Bottom line is there is less capital to spend on infrastructure.

Amateur: Adenan is thinking the Sarawakians are ignorant and silly. Please be a gentleman and don't twist the facts. Poorer in financial resources for the election, Pakatan Harapan is now being handicapped by manpower with its heavyweight politicians from Peninsular Malaysia banned from entering. This is most shameful and ridiculous.

Dont Just Talk: Adenan Satem, only an idiot will tell you that the Sarawak election is strictly on local issues. When the ringgit weakens against US dollar, the importation of goods will be more expensive, which will affect Sarawakians.

The '681 American Pies' which Adenan should be aware of, relates to the massive corruption under Umno Baru and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak. The six percent GST paid by all Malaysians, unless Sarawakians are exempted from paying, also affects local people from Sarawak.

In short, a vote for Adenan is a vote for corruption to continue under '681 American Pies’. Use your heads, Sarawakians, failing which, do not cry over spilt milk 20 years down the road when your children and grandchildren will ask you, what did you do to stop corruption from destroying Malaysia.

Fairplayer: Boys and girls, be reminded a vote for BN or Adenan is a vote for GST, 1MDB scandals, 2.6B 'sapuman', Jho Low and his Good Star Ltd.

Senior: 1MDB involves sovereign funds. Therefore it's Sarawak's funds too. Sarawakians should be concerned.

Middle Path: So simplistic to stick to local issues and not issues concerning the livelihood of everyone in the state and nation. My advice is vote for your future, and future of your children.

If the country is being ruined by idiots, vote them out.
