A police corporal based in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur, was today charged with three counts of obscene behaviour on three teenage boys.

Mohd Khairul Hisam Aziz, 31, is charged with three counts of such indecent acts on the boys, aged 14, 15, and 16, respectively at the central police lock-up in Jinjang.

The incidents took place between 1am and 5.30am on April 3.

He claimed trial to all three charges. Khairul is charged under Section 377D of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum punishment of two years' jail.

DPP Nur Farah Adilah Nordin represented the prosecution.

The accused is represented by Mohd Syazwan Mohd Salleh.

Magistrate Mahyudin Mohamad Som allowed bail of RM2,000 for each charge, totalling RM6,000. He fixed May 19 for mention.

Previously, it was reported that the accused, who is married and has children, had asked the teenage inmates to go out of their cell to clean an area outside. It is there where they were asked to engage in indecent acts.

The Jinjang central lock-up has closed circuit camera but it remains uncertain whether the place where he allegedly engaged in the indecent acts on the boys has CCTV camera.
