How time flies.

It seemed like just yesterday DAP stalwarts were sitting beside their PAS counterparts in press conferences, after the Pakatan Rakyat coalition denied BN its two-thirds majority in the past two general elections and held sway over five states at the height of its power.

The disbanding of Pakatan Rakyat was preceded by the deaths of two influential leaders in their ranks, then DAP Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh (on April 17, 2014) and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Aziz Nik Mat of PAS (on Feb 12, 2015).

A few days before the passing of Nik Aziz, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim was sentenced to a five-year jail term on what he claimed are trumped up charges of sodomy on Feb 10, 2015.

These incidents may or may not have signified the beginning of the end for the Pakatan alliance, but unravel it did until the final breath on June 16, 2015, one year ago today.
