So Bungalow-gate is a DAP conspiracy to win back Chinese support?

YOURSAY | ‘Mah Siew Keong, if you can't understand the ulterior motive to persecute Lim, you are not fit to be a minister.’

Mah: Bungalow-gate trial will cause Chinese to swing back to opposition

Drngsc: Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong, you cannot even see the political angle in the Lim Guan Eng court case? How can you say this: "Some said, this is a political conspiracy. I want to ask, how can this help us politically?”

Even for a layperson like me, I can see that putting Guan Eng in jail for 10 years, will seriously damage the leadership of DAP, destabilise Penang as its chief minister goes to jail, and also DAP will lose its secretary-general, who is an MP, and also a state representative.

You cannot see even that? Of course, the whole case is politically motivated. You were irrelevant, so they did not even have the courtesy to explain to you. I feel so sorry for you.

N1: For once Mah is right. Most Chinese now will stand behind Guan Eng who is being persecuted unfairly .

Amateur: Mah, if you really can't understand the ulterior motive to persecute Guan Eng, you are not fit to be even a peon, let alone a minister.

Clever Voter: What a simplistic analogy. Even a tea lady can tell that this is a conspiracy on the part of BN to weaken the opposition as much as possible.

Gerakan had five decades to rule Penang but had failed to deliver. Regardless of Guan Eng's case, this state government has delivered whatever it could.

SusahKes: Somehow Mah... just somehow, I don't see how the rest of the Chinese votes are going to be influenced by rice bags, and promise of a Chinese deputy chief minister.

All that I see is a cocky Umno-BN bunch buoyed by the sudden ecstasy of winning a state election and the last twin by-elections, where the odds were always stacked against Pakatan Harapan.

Go to the ground, especially the urbanites, and you will know that it is seething with anger at the political persecution of Guan Eng. You can call it perception - but boy oh boy, try and contain the fallout from this one.

But I guess it doesn't bother you. You guys are probably content with your crumbs.

Patriot1: Whatever the outcome, it doesn't matter to Gerakan because your party's dead and buried anyway. Guan Eng's case is still ongoing and the amount of RM1 million bail money raised in less than 24 hours speaks volumes of the public's perception of the government's action.

The 1MDB fiasco is still blowing up daily and making a laughing stock of us internationally. The RM100 million debacle in the Sports Ministry; MAS paying crazy prices for its supplies; Mara buying property at inflated prices in Australia, but nobody got charged; and you think the Chinese will swing to BN?

Kamikasi: Mah, I sympathise with you and Gerakan. The Chinese are too rational to see what's going on. I suggest you talk about the future of Chinese youth who are now struggling to survive in an environment that favours the supreme group.

Anonymous_1404717623: Why is the Gerakan president so worried? BN has RM2.6 billion in political funds compared to DAP with RM1.2 million only.

Yoda: If the seller had benefited from the sales of the bungalow to the Penang chief minister like a certain ex-Selangor MB, then it is something you can bark about. If not, it is a case of willing seller and willing buyer.

Anonymous 2336891439170985: We Penangites know exactly what Umno-BN did last summer. Do not play innocent. They were short-sighted thinking that with Anwar Ibrahim and Guan Eng locked up they would be able to steal Penang from Pakatan.

We will remember this and we will surely repay Umno-BN come GE14 whether it is held now or in two years. Mark my words, MCA, Gerakan and MIC candidates would most likely lose their deposits in Chinese-majority areas.

Fair Play: Mah, you are in the cabinet and you only know too well Lim’s RM2.8 million is dwarfed if compared with the RM2.6 billion problem. Yet the sledgehammer was used to crack a nut.

Don't you think it is a little too late now to dwell on the very possible consequences? The right-thinking rakyat would like to see BN annihilated in GE14 for the rakyat to be given a second chance.

Gunnerrun: In real life, most people will strive to get on the good side rather than otherwise. Corrupted people and political parties who abuse their power and discriminate against minorities are never an attraction.

People who use their position to accumulate wealth through dirty means are something most people will not be drawn to, except for a few and we know who they are. Bye Gerakan, get ready for your total demise in the next GE.

Southpaw: The persecution of Guan Eng doesn't benefit Gerakan but it does benefit Umno. This only shows that as far as Umno is concerned MCA, MIC and Gerakan are inconsequential.

GMK: An Umno win is your win. Is that not the truth?

Lone_star Now it looks like bungalow-gate is a DAP conspiracy to win back opposition supporters.
