COMMENT It’s the same old script, Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Abdul Hadi Awang and Idris Haron. We know the full story, you are already in a blockbuster movie soon to be produced.

Those who are happy with the way how both Shahrizat and PAS president Hadi responded to the press conference by the United States (US) Department of Justice (DOJ) last week, please post your comments below, stating your real identity.

I am sure that those who are for Hadi and Shahrizat would easily outnumber those who are against, but these cybertroopers would never reveal their names. They are easily identifiable by their substandard level of English and lack of coherence in their thoughts.

It is about time that we got to hear from the others who are considered the silent majority. Assuming that the next general election is called off, tell us also who you would vote for in the next five general election to come, and whether you, as an urban citizen, would make every effort to return to your hometown over the next six months to talk to the rural folk about the country’s crisis.

As far as I know, on the night (Malaysian time) when the press conference was held, most Malaysians were celebrating when the truth was finally out, exposing the money trail involving billions of ringgit, the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal and our Malaysian Official No 1. The Bible says, “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”

For the first time, everything that was published by various whistleblowers were confirmed by the US authorities and backed by documentary evidence, which will be used against the defendants in the civil suit. I believe soon, when there are concrete proofs, they will identify the Malaysian Official No 1, especially if he remains recalcitrant.

The US would risk its reputation if the DOJ makes a U-turn not to charge the people involved in international money-laundering. This is as far as I can read it; therefore, Malaysian Official No 1’s position is precarious. The whole world, from Australia to Zambia, is watching Malaysian Official No 1.

Judging from the number of reports around the world, movie directors are probably seizing the moment to produce the world’s biggest blockbuster. This time, Leonardo DiCaprio, whose reputation is becoming soiled by the 1MDB scandal, may choose to act as himself together with those who attended flamboyant Malaysian businessman Jho Low’s parties.

1MDB has become a household name, not only in Malaysia but worldwide. Whatever Hadi, Shahrizat or other Malaysian officials say about 1MDB, including what the Malaysian Official No 1 will do to remain in power, will be taken note of by the people who are going to produce the movie.

Should anything more tragic happen to the people of this country, this will become part of the movie blockbuster with their names all out in the public domain. It will surely end the future of a political party that even DAP’s adviser Lim Kit Siang would lament to see its demise.

In my opinion, there is really no escape for this one Malaysian official who is related to Rizal Aziz, one of the four defendants in the US civil suit to “recover US$1 billion of assets purchased using money stolen from the Malaysian people”. The whole world know, and all Malaysians can guess who Malaysian Official No 1 is along with this crime.

Still the same old script?

But, unfortunately, sadly and tragically, both Hadi and Shahrizat are trying to accuse the DOJ of meddling in the country’s internal affairs.

Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron has also jumped on the bandwagon and read from the script. It is no surprise that recently, Foreign Minister Anifah Aman met the US ambassador, Joseph Yun, over the DOJ’s civil suit linked to 1Malaysia Development Berhad.

Although we do not know what transpired, I doubt if Anifah in his meeting would shower words of praise on the US for its great job in uncovering the truth, indeed! At least to me and my fellow citizens, the Department of Justice in America is willing to uphold justice, and we believe it will push for actions to be taken against the four defendants.

Any attempt to divert justice will surely be costly even to any presidential candidate the moment the truth is revealed and made into a movie.

While I can understand that Shahrizat allegedly may not have the moral ground to stand against corruption (since her husband also hit the headlines over RM240 million meant for production of beef), I am surprised that even a religious man like Hadi can make such a statement on behalf of the Islamist party, when we all know that corruption and money-laundering is a serious crime anywhere in the world.

I wonder what the late Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat would say of Hadi if he were still alive. And what Malaysia’s second prime minister, Abdul Razak Hussein, would say of his son if he could speak from his grave.

Moreover, it involves our country’s funds, which according to the US officials - saying it point-blank - have been stolen from the Malaysian people.

In particular, I wish to quote US attorney-general Loretta Lynch: “Unfortunately, sadly, tragically, a number of corrupt 1MDB officials treated this public trust as a personal bank account.” This is wrong, from the perspective of any religion or moral standards.

Soon, I predict that more Umno and Umno-linked NGO leaders will be reading from the same script. Thug-like characters will then bus unsuspecting young people from the rural areas, put red T-shirts on them and start protesting in front of the US Embassy in order to divert people’s attention from the 1MDB scandal.

This, too, will all appear in the blockbuster movie to showcase the legacy left behind by all the different actors, all because of one man.

It looks like there are no other scripts that can be written. Every attempt will be made to demonise the US which has led the global investigation into the corruption of our Malaysian Official No 1.

When in the past, it was only the whistleblowers who told us about the 1MDB scandal, we now know for a fact that RM2.6 billion (US$681 million) which went into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s personal Ambank account was never a donation from a prince in the Middle East.

This was a blatant lie, to say the least!

Say what you like!

At the end of the day, the people of Malaysia shall prevail. After bringing the cinema audience through various arcs of tension, the blockbuster on 1MDB will end with a final note like most other movies - that the Malaysian people finally overcame the Empire with the help of the Almighty, despite being few in numbers.

Certainly, no politicians can accuse Almighty God of intervening in the internal affairs of Malaysia! God, in his own time, has chosen to expose the crime committed by a number of people linked to the 1MDB scandal. All praise to Him!
