Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali said all top officers in the state have declared their assets and signed an integrity pact with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

"At the state government's level, it is not just the executives who have declared their assets, but all parties have signed an integrity pact with the MACC.

"That shows our serious commitment to ensure a clean, accountable and transparent government," he told a press conference in Shah Alam.

Responding to PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli’s proposal concerning asset declaration, Azmin said the state government’s policy had gone beyond this.

"It is not about me supporting any individual. It is about the policy of the state and in fact we have done beyond that,” he added.

He said the state-government, state-government departments, including government-linked corporations in Selangor have signed the integrity pact with the MACC.

The PKR deputy president was asked if he would support Rafizi's move to write to all members of Parliament and high-ranking civil servants to pressure them to declare their assets.

Commenting further, Azmin said: "If you declare your assets but do not have integrity, it does not mean anything.”

"Look what happened in Putrajaya," he added in reference to the internal asset declaration practised by BN.

It was reported that asset declarations of Selangor state executive council (exco) members have been made public on the state government’s official website since 2009, a policy introduced by Azmin's predecessor, Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Selangor state-assembly Speaker Hannah Yeoh had in August proposed an amendment to the Standing Orders which would require all Selangor state assemblypersons to declare their financial interests and assets.
