PAS raises curtain on DAP, MCA and Gerakan's 'backstage opera'
In the latest polemic over Act 355, PAS research centre director Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki has suggested that MCA, DAP and Gerakan are staging a backstage opera, whose script is penned by non-government organisations.
Over the past week or two, he said the three parties staged a re-run of the episode of throwing challenges and counter-challenges.
“As usual, DAP started it by challenging MCA and Gerakan ministers to resign, whereas MCA challenged DAP to remove PAS from the Selangor state government.
“PAS research centre views the current drama as holding the answer to the question if DAP, Gerakan and MCA are playing opera behind the curtain,” he added in a statement.
Prior to this, Mohd Zuhdi said there have been claims that the three parties lock horns in public, but strategise an agenda together for their respective narrow interests behind the scenes.

Prior to this, Mohd Zuhdi said there have been claims that the three parties lock horns in public, but strategise an agenda together for their respective narrow interests behind the scenes.
However, he claimed that those calling the shots are not political leaders, but rather NGOs.
According to Mohd Zuhdi, his research centre has carried out a historical review of the ties between the three parties on issues like Universiti Merdeka, Operasi Lalang, election appeals committee Suqui, the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) and others.
Based on this review, he said there is some basis to why there is such a perception regarding the three parties.
“The latest is the three parties challenging each other to show who is most anti-Syariah Islam... PAS research centre views this episode as strengthening the hypothesis regarding an opera behind the curtains.
“If this is true, the conspiracy involving the three parties and NGOs can jeopardise national integrity,” he added.
Mohd Zuhdi said attempts to prevent Muslims in this nation from realising their right to live under Syariah laws can ruin the harmony in Malaysia.
“More than that, as written by academician Iskandar Tan Abdullah, such a conspiracy would generate an 'Islamic tsunami' that would wipe out anti-syariah Islam quarters in the next general election.
“PAS research centre is convinced that the 'Chinese tsumani' which happened in the last polls would be replaced by a tsunami of Muslim voters (in the next polls),” he added.
