Pakatan Harapan parties resolved to formally register the coalition with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) in two weeks' time.

Opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the Harapan presidential council also agreed that the structure of the registered coalition will be filled by representatives from all four parties.

"We also discussed about the logo and we will provide views gauged from the public.

"When we present a new logo and hope, I think it will be well accepted by the people," she told a press conference after the Harapan presidential council meeting at the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) headquarters in Petaling Jaya this evening.

Asked why would it take two weeks to submit the registration of Harapan, Wan Azizah said the the coalition partners want the application to be thorough.

"We want to examine carefully in terms of the legal elements so that there won't be problems.

"You know how the ROS is. When we wanted to register Adil back then, until today it has not been approved," she said.

Adil was the original party Wan Azizah had wanted to register before the formation of Parti Keadilan Nasional, which subsequently became PKR with its merger with Parti Rakyat Malaysia.

After being denied by the ROS, Wan Azizah in 1999 took over Ikatan Masyarakat Islam Malaysia which was renamed Parti Keadilan Nasional

Should ROS deny Harapan's registration, Wan Azizah said the respective parties in the coalition will fall back on their own logos for the general election.

If approved, Harapan is expected to context under a single logo.

Asked if voters may be confused with a new logo being introduced near the general election, which is due next year, Wan Azizah said voters were matured enough to decide.

Citing the party's experience during the Bukit Selambau by-election in 2009 in which 13 candidates contested, Wan Azizah said PKR still emerged victorious.

"God willing, there will be no problems," she said.
