The ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Youth (SOMY) has announced the 3rd Annual ASEAN Youth Video contest focused on the theme of "What does 50 Years of ASEAN Mean to Youth?," Indonesia's Antara news agency reported.
"As ASEAN is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, we invite youth citizens of ASEAN to submit a 60-second video on why they think ASEAN is important and what their aspirations and hopes are for the next fifty years of ASEAN," the ASEAN Secretariat said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
One member from each of the selected 10 finalist videos will have an opportunity to travel to Singapore to attend a four-day workshop to learn about video production techniques and refine and produce their final videos for submission. The top three videos will win cash prizes.
Eligible contestants must be 18-30 years of age on 1 July 2017 and ASEAN citizens residing in their home country.
Videos should be submitted to the ASEAN Youth Video Contest 2017 website before July 1, 2017.
