Thai police seize 15 stolen motocycles, one M'sian held
Sungai Golok police have confiscated 15 stolen motorcycles and detained four male suspects, including a 20-year-old Malaysian.
Also arrested for the thefts were three Thai youths, aged between 16 and 17, from Sungai Padi in Narathiwat, South Thailand.
Sungai Golok police chief Col Prayuth Ponsanti said the four youths today admitted to stealing the motorcycles, which would be smuggled via Sungai Golok for sale in Malaysia.
“Proceeds from the sale of the motorcycles will be used to buy drugs and for entertainment,” Prayuth told reporters today.
The stolen motorcycles could be sold at between 3,000 baht (RM375) and 5,000 baht (RM625) each.
According to him, three of the motorcycles were found used in criminal activities in southern Thailand.
