Selangor Umno Youth today lodged a report against Menteri Besar Azmin Ali and Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) at the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission over the dispute between Universiti Selangor (Unisel) and its contractor Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd.

Kelana Jaya Umno Youth chief Maisham Maarof claimed that Azmin is the individual responsible for MBI and also chairs the Pendidikan YS Sdn Bhd, a state subsidiary company which manages Universiti Selangor (Unisel).

"Through various documents obtained from whistleblower website Selangor-Leaks.com, we have big doubts on the disputed contract between Unisel and Jana Niaga.

"If the documents are true, then it is suspicious that a company, as alleged by Unisel to have failed to complete a contract, given millions of ringgit in compensation and a new contract," he said.

Earlier, Maisham was at the MACC office in Shah Alam with 20 Kelana Jaya Umno Youth members to lodge the report. They arrived at 11.45am and left at about 2pm.

“The Selangor MB cannot remain quiet and he should come forward to explain this issue. At present, there is no denial on the part of menteri Besar or MBI over the revelation made in Selangor-Leaks.com," he said.

About two weeks ago, Rizal Mansor, an aide to Prime Minister's wife Rosmah Mansor, dared Azmin to explain the payments made to Jana Niaga.

He said the previous menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had stopped payment to the contractor when the project was found to be unsatisfactory.

The Selangor MBI then threatened to take legal action against those who accuse the agency of corruption.

MBI said in December 2012, the Shah Alam High Court ruled that Jana Niaga and Unisel must reach a settlement through arbitration as stated in the contract, and this was upheld by the Court of Appeal in July 2013.

It further denied that payment of RM60 million was made to Jana Niaga.

Rizal who was not satisfied with the explanation had urged Azmin and MBI to provide evidence on the arbitration.

Selangor exco in charge of education Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad shot back at Rizal saying he should stop acting like a warrior defending the rights of the students and stop talking on behalf of Unisel.

“If he really wants to be a warrior, then answer the issues on 1MDB, Felda, Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera, KWAP and so on,” he added.
