The Selangor Religious Authority (Jais) has detained two MACC officers today on suspicion of khalwat (close proximity).

According to a source, one of the detainees is a director in one of the divisions in the anti-graft commission.

The source told Malaysiakini the couple - a man and a single mother - were detained at a condominium in Seri Kembangan at approximately 3am.

A source in Jais confirmed the matter and said the case is under investigation.

It is understood the duo will have their statements taken today and are to be released on RM1,500 bail each.
