Pahang Umno Youth today called for action to be taken against Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar for allegedly insulting Sultan Ahmad Shah Sultan Abu Bakar of Pahang who is ill, and using a video clip on him to crack jokes when giving a political talk.

Its head Mohd Shahar Abdullah said the opposition MP’s actions only showed his shallowness and poor upbringing.

In a media statement here, he said that Mahfuz, who was formerly with PAS but now an independent, should remember that although he is an MP, he is not above the law.

Shahar urged the police to investigate the MP under the Sedition Act 1948 for the alleged offence.

He also demanded that Mahfuz make an open apology to Sultan Ahmad Shah.
