Selangor police have assured that they will investigate allegations by actor Farid Kamil Zahari that he was assaulted by policemen while under remand.

State CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat told Malaysiakini that the police have already opened an investigation into Farid's claim.

"For your information, we have opened up an investigation paper into Farid's allegation. The probe is still ongoing.

"We initiated the probe on Jan 31," he said, adding that all those named by Farid will be called up to assist the investigation...
