Selangor Pakatan Harapan is still unable to resolve overlapping claims for six state seats following the third round of official negotiations yesterday.

Coalition secretary Zuraida Kamaruddin said that the six are Sungai Burong, Sungai Panjang, Seri Serdang, Lembah Jaya, Kota Damansara and Dusun Tua.

Zuraida declined to divulge further details.

However, several sources revealed that PKR and Bersatu are staking claims to all six, while Amanah sought five and DAP two.

In 2013, Pakatan Rakyat had allocated five of the seats, except Kota Damansara, to PAS.

Sungai Panjang, Sungai Burong and Kota Damansara are Malay majority seats currently held by BN.

In the case of Kota Damansara, BN won with less than 50 percent of the popular vote due to multi-cornered fights after PAS decided to nominate a candidate at the eleventh hour.

The Dusun Tua, Lembah Jaya and Sri Serdang state seats have a significantly higher non-Malay voter count. All three seats were won by PAS in 2013.

When met yesterday after the two-hour meeting, Selangor Harapan election director Dr Xavier Jeyakumar said tremendous progress has been made.

"This was a very successful meeting, we have only six overlapping seats," he said.

Xavier said Selangor Harapan chief Azmin Ali would take over the matter and hold discussions with the state chiefs of the other coalition parties next week.

"I am very confident (Azmin) can settle (the six disputed seats). The next meeting is scheduled for next week," he added.

Although most other Harapan state chapters have yet to finalise their seat allocation plans, Selangor has drawn the most interest due to the complexities involved in dividing up seats that were once allocated to PAS.

PAS won 15 seats in the state assembly in 2013. Initially, Selangor Harapan was supposed to complete the seat talks by Jan 31.
