Mahathir announced that the Agong has indicated that jailed PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim may receive a pardon.

Mahathir said his administration will look into the conduct of the Election Commission and accusations that the MACC ignored widespread graft.

Mahathir accused attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali of hiding evidence of wrongdoing.

Apandi however denied this and said he had nothing to hide.

Umno Youth divisions across the country have responded by urging Najib to step down as Umno head.
