More than 6,000 people attended the Aidilfitri ‘open house’ of Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahirudin and his wife, Toh Puan Norlidah R M Jasni, at Istana Negeri in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah today.

Sabah Chief Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal and his wife, Datin Seri Shuryani Shuaib, also attended the open house.

Other VIPs included Sabah deputy chief ministers Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau,  Jaujan Sambakong and Christina Liew as well as several state Cabinet ministers.

A variety of food, including satay, ketupat, lemang and rendang, was served at the open house, held from 11am to 1pm.

The guests were also entertained to song and dance performances by local artists.

Tun Juhar and Toh Puan Norlidah exchanged greetings with the guests. They also cut an Aidilfitri cake which was later served to the guests.
