PARLIAMENT | A backbencher today likened the shocking defeat of the world's football giants in the just concluded World Cup competition to the loss of the BN in the recent 14th general election.

RSN Rayer (Harapan-Jelutong) managed to squeeze the statement when he stood up to ask a supplementary question to Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo during the question and answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today.

“We are thankful to the concern of the Pakatan Harapan government. Under the BN we had to pay for everything, even to watch football too we had to pay.

“The football competition this time was historical because we saw that world football giants such as Argentina, Germany and England were all defeated. Like BN in Malaysia,” said Rayer who was greeted with jeers and laughter from other MPs.

The 2018 World Cup final saw France lifting the trophy for the second time after defeating Croatia 4-2.
