Rosmah Mansor sang praises of her husband Najib Abdul Razak when she turned up with other guests at Parliament this afternoon to throw a surprise birthday party for the former premier.
Asked about her wish for Najib, who turned 65 today, Rosmah said she told her husband that the family loves him.
"He is a very truthful man and he is on the right path," she added.
Najib, who is battling charges of criminal breach of trust and abuse of power, was served with a cake with the words, "Thank you Sir Datuk Seri Najib Razak."
Others at the event were opposition leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, actress Ellie Suriati Omar, former Bersatu founding member Anina Saadudin and several BN lawmakers.
After cutting the cake, the former premier was shown a music video titled "TQ Sir" which depicted scenes during his time as prime minister.
"I didn't expect such a complimentary video.
“To me, the video is not about me, but it is a recognition of the previous government's national transformation policies," he said when asked to make a speech.
The event was organised by Metamorphosis Global Studio Sdn Bhd.
Two months ago, Najib led the BN coalition to its first ever electoral defeat in six decades, with numerous quarters blaming this on the 1MDB scandal and even Rosmah's alleged extravagant lifestyle.
The former premier, however, has maintained that he did not abuse public funds for personal gain.
