A scuffle broke out after a march in Kuala Lumpur tonight against the Attorney-General's Chambers' move to drop charges against Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, was blocked by the police.

Led by Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam, the group of 50 protestors had attempted to march from the Sogo shopping centre to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Shaharudin Abdullah was seen snatching a microphone from Lokman while about 20 police personnel blocked the marchers.

The march was initiated after rally organisers decided to abandon Sogo shopping centre as a rally venue because nearby buskers were too loud and interrupting the group's speeches.

Earlier, when Lokman was about to deliver his speech, he was heard telling the police to ask the buskers to turn down the volume on their PA system.

When there was no reaction from any of the police officers, the protesters led by Lokman began to march towards the Dang Wangi police district headquarters.

Blocked by the police, the protesters retreated to the Sogo entrance where they were surrounded by police, including the Light Strike Force.

Lokman continued to deliver his speech but he was interrupted by the police a few times, asking him to stop.

In his short speech, Lokman alleged that the Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng via his ministry had made two transactions of RM2.5 million each to the MACC.

"Lim Guan Eng had made two very suspicious bank transfers before the Najib's case began.

"On May 23, 2018, a document with the number […] was prepared by the Finance Ministry amounting to RM2.5 million, transferred from the ministry's account to the MACC's Islamic Bank account […].

"The second transaction was made on July 27, 2018, from the ministry's account number […], an amount of RM2.5 million was transferred to MACC's Islamic bank account […]."

Lokman said his representatives had lodged a report today for the MACC to investigate whether these transactions were to make sure that Najib was charged or whether it was to ensure that Lim was acquitted.

The rally started at 9pm and the crowd dispersed about 10.30pm.

Lokman later told a media conference that Shaharudin was unprofessional and that the police had torn up his copy of the police report.

Meanwhile, Shaharudin told the media that no arrests were made tonight but an investigation paper will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor.

"He (Lokman) has no right to tell the police to demand the buskers to turn down the volume. He cannot instruct us.

"He had told the police (prior to the rally) that he would hold a rally for an hour starting at 9pm in front of Sogo. The protesters were not allowed to march. But Lokman had incited the crowd to march. We cannot allow that. We will open an investigation paper," he said.
