PD POLLS | Port Dickson by-election candidate Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan stands by his police report in 2008 in which he accused Anwar Ibrahim of sodomising him.

Saiful also urged the public to look up the word "pardon" in the dictionary.

"I stand by my police report and, actually, this pardon thing, you need to open (up the) dictionary and see what the definition of 'pengampunan' (pardon) is.

"I don't want to say (more). Look up the definition (of the word)," he told a press conference today.

Saiful said this when asked if he still stood by his allegation in view of Anwar being accorded a full pardon by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on May 16.

Anwar, who is hoping to win the Port Dickson seat in order to return to Parliament, has always maintained that the allegation was fabricated by his political rivals.

At a press conference later, Saiful further criticised Anwar for wasting public funds by triggering an "unnecessary" by-election.

"Where are the morals and honour of the party that has been combating misappropriation, wastages, but clearly uses public funds for their own personal agenda (by staging a by-election).

"If I was Anwar I would be embarrassed," he said.

Besides Saiful and Anwar, five others are vying for the Port Dickson seat, including former Umno warlord Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

Polling day in Port Dickson is on Oct 13.
