A group of People's Progressive Party (MyPPP) members aligned to Maglin D'Cruz has urged M Kayveas, who leads another faction vying for control of the party, to name those who allegedly collected RM36 million in 1MDB-linked money for the party.

In a press conference today, the group's spokesperson Loga Bala Mohan said there is no evidence that the party had received the money.

"All decisions made before Kayveas was sacked were his alone. (Now that) Kayveas alleged that the money was collected by six MyPPP members, he should name them. The people deserve to know," said Loga Bala during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

Kayveas had reported to the MACC headquarters yesterday. He later revealed that investigators quizzed him about money that was channelled to the party .

Kayveas alleged that there were two transactions – one involving RM16 million and another involving RM20 million – which were collected in the name of MyPPP following his alleged sacking from the party in April.

He said that the money never entered MyPPP's accounts and he didn't know where the money went. However, he claimed to have submitted the names of six individuals, who allegedly collected the money, to the MACC.

During the press conference today, Simon Sabapathy, another MyPPP leader aligned to Maglin's faction said only Kayveas would know about the alleged sum and that the relevant documentation might be in the latter's possession.

Simon said that Kayveas' possessions had been removed from the MyPPP headquarters and was being kept in a storage facility.

"Maybe the documents are there," he said.

In April, MyPPP was split in two with one faction led by Kayveas and another led by Maglin. Both are claiming control of the party.

It is understood that the Registrar of Societies (ROS) is currently in the midst of deciding who are the party's rightful office bearers.

It is also understood that the MACC is currently investigating BN component parties – current and former – over the receipt of funds that are linked to 1MDB.
