The police nabbed 19 youths believed to be involved in a riot at Pangsapuri Jasa, Mutiara Rini in Johor Bahru yesterday.
Iskandar Puteri Police chief ACP Dzulkairi Mukhtar said the suspects, aged between 13 and 21, were detained at about 8pm.
He said the arrests were carried out following reports received from the public who saw the presence of a group of men armed with machetes in the area.
"Acting on the information, the police immediately went to the location and detained all suspects and seized four machetes," he said in a statement today.
Dzulkairi said initial investigations revealed the motive of the incident was revenge following a previous fight that took place at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah in Johor Bahru.
