MACC quizzes former chief Dzulkifli
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is questioning its former chief Dzulkifli Ahmad at the commission's headquarters in Putrajaya.
It is believed MACC is recording Dzulkifli's statement on the alleged tampering of 1MDB's national audit report.
Dzulkifli appeared calm when he arrived at the office at 10.25am and he waved to the media personnel present as he walked into the building.
Yesterday, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said Dzulkifli would be among those it would question over the alleged tampering.
Dzulkifli is not named in the chronological report provided by auditor-general Madinah Mohamad on the alleged tampering which is said to have taken place between February and March 2016.
While Dzulkifli only became MACC chief in August that year, he was part of the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) at the time of the alleged tampering.
According to Madinah, representatives from the AGC were present at a Feb 24, 2016, meeting during which contents of the 1MDB national audit report were allegedly ordered to be deleted or amended.
As part of the AGC, Dzulkifli was also present at former attorney-general Mohamad Apandi Ali's press conference in January 2016.
In the press conference, Apandi had cleared then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak of wrongdoing in the 1MDB-linked RM2.6 billion scandal.
