PM to Jho Low: This gov't does not interfere with judiciary
The Pakatan Harapan government does not interfere with the judiciary, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today to fugitive financier Low Taek Jho.
The prime minister was responding to Low insisting on Tuesday that he would not get a fair trial in Malaysia over his alleged involvement in troubled state fund 1MDB.

The prime minister was responding to Low insisting on Tuesday that he would not get a fair trial in Malaysia over his alleged involvement in troubled state fund 1MDB.
"It must be because he knows he is guilty, so when he is guilty, he says the trial is not fair.
"But Malaysian judges are quite fair. We all have to appear in court and we can't keep on dismissing the charges or getting another judge for ourselves.
"We have to accept that the institution of the judiciary is not being interfered with by this government," Mahathir said at a press conference at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
Low had issued a statement on Dec 4, saying that he believed he would not get a fair trial in Malaysia after he was charged in absentia over offences related to 1MDB.
He claimed the current government has no interest in the rule of law and that the charges were a part of a trial by media and political reprisals by Mahathir.
Arrest warrants were also issued on Dec 4 against Low and four others after charges were brought against them.
The four other individuals are former 1MDB general counsel Jasmine Loo Ai Swan, former executive director Casey Tang Keng Chee and former 1MDB officers Terence Geh Choh Heng and Eric Tan Kim Loong.
Low and his father Larry Low were also charged earlier in August in relation to 1MDB as well.
