Tok Mat: Umno MPs accept new leadership, no more defections
Acting Umno president Mohamad Hassan believes that the spate of defections by Umno's lawmakers has ended.
"I have met them and from what they are saying, they are satisfied (with the new arrangement). They are comfortable with the decisions of the current leadership," said Mohamad after chairing his first Umno supreme council meeting today.

Mohamad was made acting party leader after its elected president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi went on leave, after being blamed for a string of defections this month due to dissatisfaction over his leadership style.
Umno presently has 36 MPs, down from 54 after the May 9 elections.
Meanwhile, Mohamad said that the supreme council had acknowledged an official letter from Zahid which delegated his powers to the acting president.
In his first executive decision as acting Umno president, Mohamad said the party will undergo restructuring. He promised more autonomy for state chapters, in particular, Sabah.
"Every state is different. (For instance,) the strategy employed by Kelantan Umno will definitely be different from Johor Umno," he said.
He also reiterated Zahid's position that Putrajaya should establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.
Adib died after suffering from injuries while on duty during a riot at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple, Subang Jaya on Nov 26.
The post-mortem report is expected next week.
