Respect PKR constitution, Fuziah says over selection of state chiefs

Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh believes that the turmoil over the appointment of the party state leadership council chairpersons would not crop up if every member understood and respected the party constitution.

The Pahang PKR chief said these appointments were only decided on by party president Anwar Ibrahim after meeting all division heads and party leaders first.

"These conflicts or talks would not crop up if we understand the party constitution.

"The problem now is that statements are being made as if the selection was made based on certain factors, and not due to the support of the leadership and grassroots members," she stressed.

"To me, these are all discordant voices and do not affect the focus to carry out the trust given by the president.

"I regard them as a challenge which must be faced and carry out work as normal because in our struggle, we work for the people, and not just for posts."

Fuziah said this at a media conference after launching the Back To School ceremony jointly organised by her office, Kelab Prihatin Kuantan and MBS World today.

On Wednesday, Paya Besar PKR division chief Albakri Salim issued a media statement urging the party leadership to reconsider the appointment of Fuziah as Pahang chief, alleging that the appointment was made without the backing of division heads in the state.
