Johor Corp, major shareholder, to discuss unpalatable KFC prices
Johor Corp chairperson Osman Sapian today said he will be meeting with his company's CEO to discuss a possible review of prices at KFC outlets nationwide.
"I did not know. I have to discuss with the CEO (Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim) but he is on leave. I need to get further information from him," the Johor menteri besar told Malaysiakini.

He was asked for his comments on a recent viral social media post's claim that there was a drastic increase in the price of KFC meals.
Johor Corp holds 51.86 percent share in QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, the operator of the KFC and Pizza Hut franchise in Malaysia.
"I will meet him, then I will tell you. Because he is away, it's difficult for me to explain," Osman said when met at the sidelines of Bersatu's second annual general meeting in Putrajaya today.
"And KFC is going for an IPO next year. That's the only thing I can tell you," he added.
At an earlier press conference held after a Bersatu supreme council meeting, party president Muhyiddin Yassin noted there were cases of companies or restaurants not following the law which regulates the Sales and Services Tax (SST).
"It is up to the Finance Ministry to investigate such complaints," he added.
On Wednesday, QSR Brands acknowledged that it had made "marginal price adjustments", this after complaints emerged on social media claiming that the company had made a substantial hike in the prices of its menu items.
In response to the complaints, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry yesterday said it would be investigating KFC and McDonalds over the price hikes.
