MB: We have ways to prevent Ramli from jumping ship

"Don't believe rumours. We have ways to make sure he doesn't jump ship," he told reporters at the Umno office in Tanah Rata this afternoon.
Asked if Ramli had inked an agreement not to defect, Wan Rosdy replied: "There are ways (to prevent defections), we have learned from experience."
"I can assure you that if Ramli wins, he will not jump ship. As the Pahang BN chairperson, I can guarantee, he will not jump ship," he stressed.
Earlier today, a highly-placed BN source told Malaysiakini of concerns that Ramli might become an independent if he wins.
The source also claimed that a Pakatan Harapan component party was in the process of courting the candidate.
Responding to Wan Rosdy's remarks, PKR communication director Fahmi Fadzil tweeted: "What 'ways' is this MB talking about? There better not be any nefarious, odious 'ways'... but, knowing Umno...”
Ramli, who was the highest ranked Orang Asli police officer in the nation's history, has also dismissed this speculation.
In the Jan 26 by-election, the BN candidate would be locking horns with Harapan's M Manogaran and two independents.
Umno - the main party in BN – had witnessed a wave of defections following the coalition's defeat in the May 9 general election.
The defections thinned the once-ruling party's numbers in Parliament from 54 seats to 38.
