CNY spirit abounds as FT mufti presents cakes to neighbours

Federal Territories Mufti Zulkifli Mohamad today handed out cakes to his Chinese neighbours in conjunction with Chinese New Year tomorrow.
"Today, I feted my Chinese neighbours with cakes in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.
"It may be a small gesture but I hope it can contribute to harmony among Malaysians of diverse races.
"Let us go back to basics in that we are all actually one big family," he said in a Facebook post today.
Zulkifli said Islam celebrates religious and racial diversity and that the Prophet Muhammad himself showed that being polite could overcome racial and religious obstacles.
