Fake news, Dr M says on cabinet reshuffle rumours
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today dismissed as "fake news" rumours of a cabinet reshuffle after the Chinese New Year holidays.
"No reshuffle," Mahathir told reporters after attending the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Chinese New Year open house at the Wisma Chinese Chambers, Kuala Lumpur.

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today dismissed as "fake news" rumours of a cabinet reshuffle after the Chinese New Year holidays.
"No reshuffle," Mahathir told reporters after attending the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Chinese New Year open house at the Wisma Chinese Chambers, Kuala Lumpur.
"I think it is the same cabinet. All rumours. Fake news," he said when asked for comments on a blog post claiming that Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali would be appointed deputy prime minister after the Chinese New Year.
The blog posting triggered speculation over Azmin's position and Pakatan Harapan's succession plan, which involves PKR president Anwar Ibrahim becoming the eighth prime minister.
Among others, the posting claimed that Azmin was being groomed for the deputy prime minister's post, as he had been appointed to several key positions – most recently, the chairperson of the Kelantan State Action Council.
The open house today was co-hosted by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and attended by a long list of cabinet ministers, as well as Harapan component party leaders.
Among them were Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, her husband Anwar, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad and Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok.
Harapan leaders present included DAP veterans Lim Kit Siang and Tan Kok Wai, as well as Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
