Kula says working 'behind the scenes' in Indira Gandhi's case

Human Resources Minister M Kulasegaran has assured that he was "doing things" behind the scene to help M Indira Gandhi, who is embroiled in a long-standing custodial battle for her child.
Kulasegaran, who first took up Indira's case when it cropped up about a decade ago, now urges other lawyers to take up the case, since his ministerial duty does not allow him to practise law.
"Unfortunately, when I was appointed a minister, I cannot do (represent Indira). I have asked other lawyers to help out. I cannot force people," he told a press conference after attending a forum on forced labour in Penang, today.
"When I took up the case 10 years ago, nobody wanted to do it, (thinking) we would surely lose, it is a religious and very sensitive issue.
"I went to the Federal Court many times, not to mention the many, many days at the Court of Appeal, not to mention thousands of ringgit spent by my previous law firm on the matter," he added.
"I have done my public duty as so required. Now as minister, I am doing things behind the scenes which I cannot divulge, as I must mind my business as the minister for human resources, no matter how much I want to help. If I am back in practice, I would surely do it."
There has not been much progress in Indira's case, even after Pakatan Harapan took over the federal government on May 9, last year.
Federal Territory MIC communication chairperson S Rajah has urged Kulasegaran to quit his minister's post if the police are unable to trace the whereabouts of her ex-husband and daughter.
In 2009, Indira's ex-husband converted to Islam and took the name Muhammad Riduan Abdullah.
He also unilaterally converted their three children, and later took away their daughter Prasana Diksa, when she was just 11 months old.
Since then, Indira has only seen Prasana once at a solitary court proceeding when her daughter was a year and six months old.
The High Court in Ipoh had issued an arrest warrant against Ridhuan in 2014, and inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun says police have been searching for him since.
This MIC guy is either stupid or dumb. Is police under ministry of Human Resources or is he too embroiled in playing racial politics until be his blinded.
