Bersatu picks former rep's son-in-law for Semenyih

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin announced the Hulu Langat Bersatu treasurer as the candidate in a ceremony at Taman Pelangi, Semenyih.
Several Harapan leaders were present including Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, Bersatu deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir and Bersatu secretary-general Marzuki Yahya.
The Semenyih by-election is being held following the death of the incumbent Bakhtiar Mohd Nor, 57, who was also the Bersatu Hulu Langat chief on Jan 11 following a heart attack.
Aiman is Bakhtiar's son-in-law.

Bakhtiar wrested the seat from BN in a four-cornered fight in the 14th general election last year.
He bagged 23,428 votes against Umno's Johan Abd Aziz (14,464 votes), PAS' Mad Shahmidur Mat Kosim (6,966 votes) and PSM's S Arutchelvan (1,293 votes).
Nomination day for the Semenyih by-election is Saturday while early voting will be on Feb 26 following by polling day on March 2.
