"(We were urging) the Malays, the youth and the Muslims to unite. If that is wrong, I feel it is better for us to give up our nationality," he said.
Umno and PAS were criticised for harping on racial and religious sentiments during the past by-elections.
"That is a new law that I don't know about.
"This (rule) is against the international convention. It is against the constitution," he said.
On Jan 21, EC chairperson Azhar Azizan cautioned against the use of racial issues while campaigning for the Cameron Highlands by-election, adding that it was an offence.
"Touching upon religious sensitivities during the election campaign is inappropriate and is an offence under the Election Offences Act 1954," EC chairperson Azhar Azizan Harun said in a statement today.
Azhar, however did not mention any candidate or party.
Unite for what? Unite for brother against brother, family against family, village against village, tribe against tribe, nation against nation. So Malays want to unite against whom? I asked my Chinese and Indian friends, they say they have nothing against the Malays. So you call for Malay unity for what? Just to get newspaper to report and your stupid face come out in paper is it?
This silly talk shows his shallow understanding. There is nothing wrong in urging the Malays to unite, but to incite them by telling that they are losing their racial and religious rights as conferred under the Constitution, are you telling they are losing their rights to ghosts and these ghosts are robbing them of their constitutional rights. When you pit one race against another, by telling lies, you are indeed committing an offence. You are a blatant liar. When a Malay is the PM, the DPM is a Malay, and the majority of Parliamentarians are Malays and the Rulers are still the HEADS of Islam and the Constitutional guarantees are still in place, why are you lying to the Malays that they are being robbed of their rights. Malays leaders stole from Tabung Haji, from Felda and none of you Malays in the previous Govt had the balls to question the theif who swindled billions of our money, and shamefully many joined him in the act. You people have no shame at all. I almost thought that you, and not Zahid Hamidi, will be able to unite the races but you are no better.
Durian, yes MIC and MCA really very stupid. UMNO say jump they ask how high.
