PAS sec-gen: Nik Abduh did not lie when denying links to audio recording
PAS leader Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz did not lie when he denied it was his voice on an audio recording mentioning that the party received RM2 million from Umno, said the Islamist party's secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
"He did not lie. But in certain situation when you cannot confirm certain matter, that's it," he told reporters when met in Semenyih today...

Takiyuddin added that Nik Abduh's words were taken out of context and only 'half of his statement' in the audio recording was quoted.
"In politics, sometimes you need (a) strategy.
"The reason the RM90 million issue was brought up, was to tarnish PAS' image, especially during the 14th general election.
"So in that context, we as the victim, we have to strategise our move.
"That's why sometimes (when) we do not admit to certain things, we are telling (it) the other way round - it is not a lie," he explained.
He also said PAS would study the need to reveal the audio recording.
The issue surrounding the recording resurfaced after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang settled out of court his defamation suit against Sarawak Report, over its article that claimed his party leaders had accepted RM90 million from former Umno president Najib Abdul Razak.
Nik Abduh had revealed that president Abdul Hadi Awang consented to his denial of an audio clip of him admitting that the party received funds from Umno.
Last year, Nik Abduh had dismissed the recording as "nonsense and slander", which he reiterated to the media after the MACC recorded his statement last week.
Meanwhile, he denied that Hadi's out-of-court settlement had vindicated the allegation by Sarawak Report but instead the development had cleared the party president as the portal's editor Claire Rewcastle-Brown, in her defence statement, had not mentioned the RM90 million.
